God's Open Arms Ministry is a family of Christian brothers and sisters who strive to love like Jesus; to be His hands, His feet and His voice; as we humbly feed, clothe, visit with and encourage the homeless and those in need.
Our ministry is inspired by the mantra Believe, Dream, Conquer – We BELIEVE that God has placed us here, in this ministry, on purpose. We give God all the Glory and thank Him for the opportunities to serve His people.
We DREAM big, listening to God’s Will for this ministry and letting Him lead us where He knows we should be. We CONQUER Satan’s grip on the world today, spreading the light of Jesus to those in need.
Food Ministry
On Monday and Thursday evenings, our group of volunteers hit the streets with hot food in tow, ready to distribute to those less fortunate. Monday evenings, we travel down US 40 in Greenfield, serving around 75 people at 3 stops. Thursday evenings, we head to Downtown Indianapolis to visit our friends staying in outdoor camps.
Food is hauled in our trailer, along with clothing items, pet food, and hygiene items. Before serving, we offer a small devotion and spend time in God’s word. We believe a hot meal provides not just physical nutrition, but also spiritual nutrition.
A Day of Love and Caring
Held on Christmas Eve, the annual "A Day of Love and Caring" is an opportunity for us to help provide a Christmas for families who may otherwise not be able.
Hosted at the Hancock Co. fairgrounds, we spend months collecting clothes, toys, and home goods to bless others with.
This year’s Day of Love and Caring served 515 meals and provided Christmas gifts for over 220 families.
We calculated almost 800 kids attended the event this year.
